The MFDS is a form containing data regarding the sustainability of a particular substance. Similar to Material Safety Data Sheet, well established in the Environmental Health & Safety world.
Who We Are
Source 44 was founded in response to the need for companies to evaluate their overall impact on the environment and ongoing sustainability. As a sustainability data management company, Source 44 helps our clients meet increasing consumer and legislative pressure to create carbon neutral products without sacrificing quality, price or innovation.
As consumers' interest in cause branding takes on greater importance, the environment is one of the top four causes Americans want companies to address.* Until now, many companies' efforts to reduce their global impact have been restricted to day-to-day operations, such as providing recycling containers and printing on recycled paper. While these efforts positively impact our environment, the increasing pressure from consumers combined with legislation leaning towards mandating more extensive and expensive efforts on the part of manufacturing companies to provide sustainability data poses a daunting prospect for many companies, particularly those who source materials from all over the globe.
We are the originator and leader in the industry of supply chain sustainability data services. We realized that there was a more efficient and cost effective way for companies to evaluate their overall impact and the sustainability of their products. We imagined a "source" of information that was comprehensive, reliable, less expensive, and would enable companies to make the right decisions for their business and the environment. This "source" would mean people could go back to running their companies and know that their supply chain sustainability was fully understood. Armed with accurate information and a greater understanding of their products, companies could do more than comply with new regulations, they could use this information for product improvement and effective marketing.
Source 44 only supplies sustainability data. We do not maintain an index or rating system; we simply provide information that can be used to support those systems.
